The audit application process is simple.

Certification eligibility is limited to studio, apartments, townhouses, single family dwellings and guest houses which are operated as seasonal or short stay/vacation rentals.

SafeStay compliance team will conduct an onsite property inspection audit to determine your SafeStay Approval – meeting all state and national property guidelines and compliance.

You Receive your SafeStay Certification

Once compliance standards are met and SafeStay certified, you will receive your SafeStay Approved Certificate, SafeStay Report and unique SafeStay Member number.

How do I get my rental property inspection audited?

Click on the Book an Inspection button available on and follow prompts, and a member of SafeStay Team will be in touch with you within 24 hours to coordinate a convenient time for the inspection audit.

How long does the on-site inspection take?

A typical short-term rental takes approximately 45 – 90 minutes to audit.

What kinds of items will be reviewed?
Our SafeStay Compliance team inspects unique property features, some of these items can include but are not limited to smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, electrical points, window furnishing safety, first aid kits, stairs and fire exits.

Prior to an inspection audit, you will be issued an itemised list of what is inspected so that you can take the necessary steps to be prepared.

A SafeStay Approved Certificate shows that you have taken all the steps to create a safe and secure short-term rental property for your guests.

How much does it cost to join SafeStay and become certificated?

Once our SafeStay Compliance Team have conducted an onsite 45 – 90-minute inspection audit and paying the fee $199 - $499, your property is listed on the SafeStay website where the authenticity of the SafeStay Approved Certification can be verified.

What else do I receive?
Your Rental Property’s SafeStay Approved Certification will be listed on the SSAA website, differentiating your property from non-certified properties, a marketing advantage.

Upon successful SafeStay Approval Certification, you will receive details about SafeStay’s preferred Homeowners insurance programs. This qualifies the Rental Property Owner to apply for the proprietary SafeStay Homeowners Insurance policy which is designed to replace your existing homeowners Insurance policy and will offer rates at a substantial discount compared to standard rates.
