Our Story

After witnessing in the media, the tragedy of short stay accommodation incidents ranging from injury, fraud and even deaths, our founders went on a journey to develop national safety standards in the shorts stay accommodation industry.

SafeStay was originally founded by various group of specialists in a range of industries to develop a nationally recognised standard, bringing in additional experts across the country to determine a framework and audit inspection process.

As it started gaining momentum and was adopted by a wider range of short stay accommodation platforms, SafeStay Australia knew that there was a real risk and a lack of information and education amongst Hosts and Guests, about where the liability and insurances responsibilities fell.

SafeStay now has built and experienced team of inspectors, account managers, technical verification managers and support partners, including government departments and service providers, all of whom are responsible for the SafeStay Certified Approval process.
